• Speculate about headers for a sec...

CIA headers are 1.5" primaries
RKsport & Pacesetter are 1.75" primaries

Now, with simple exhaust and intake mods, I don't think there would be a big advantage of having the larger primaries. However, how restrictive do you think the CIA headers would be if someone were to add a cam and/or super/turbocharger? I only ask because these are said to be really good headers but I don't want to restrict myself for down the road.

Thank you all for your input. My guess is that whereas the RK's or Pacesetters would let me make 300flywheel HP, the CIA's would only net me 290 or so (just an example of 10HP less with same mods)

I think you've got a ways to go before you're worrying whether or not you're making 300 or 290 horsepower

I'm really trying hard not to be a d!ck here b/c you have no idea what I have at home waiting to be installed or not. The question is in regards to how limited are the CIA headers if someone (not just me) were to add a super/turbocharger, or even just a cam. The 300 HP number was just a number thrown out. It is not a number i'm shooting for, but is easily attainable at the flywheel with the addition of a blower/turbo.

I thought it was decided and agreed upon a while ago that the CIA headers were ideal for a NA application. Maybe I am wrong.

Don't worry about the primaries being .25" smaller than the others just get a cut-out right after it or get a down pipe it'll be less restrictive after the Y pipe.

To answer your question I'd go with the pacesetters and the slightly larger primaries.

Well when you say you don't want to restrict yourself down the road ...I can only assume you do not yet have the means to make 300 hp at the fly.
Just be sure to let me know when you hit that 250+ hp on a dyno.
But get the CIA's...pacesetter lost my respect when they BS'd so many people around.

I would get the RKsports, they have bigger primaries, and are pretty much the same price.

Don't get me wrong...I love my pacesetters...but I don't support their business anymore because of the ****ty product they sold to so many of the members on this board.

I tend to agree with you.. but.. header fittment is a huge PITA.. i know of LS1 guys who sometime have to notch their frames when headers dont fit.. or crazy **** like that..

IMHO dont **** around with stuff like that if you arnt willing to hack it up and make things work..

I never expect anything to work right.. that way when i get everything to gether in the end.. it turns out fine..
