  • FLOWMASTER 80 INSTALLED!!

Just got my Flowmaster 80 Series installed today and noticed how better the car breathes. For example when you let the car coast at about 2500 rpm's, it really coasts!! You don't feel the ingine being restricted. Is this normal? I'm hoping it is, and not just me imagining it. :D

    Cool.

Less restrictive, yes, they will breathe easier.

I noticed after putting mine on my car felt "slower". 60 MPH feels like 35 MPH. (not sure if that has anything to do with it, though) I just heard a clip of an 80 series and it sounded much like mine, especially during revs. At idle it was a tad deeper but didn't seem to have that low gurgle flowmaster sound. Maybe it was just the clip or bad speakers, but does yours have that gurgle at idle?

Only problem I have with mine is that its too quiet, at least once the idle drops. But I think I know how to fix that later on though.

You didn't mention, do you like the sound? :D

I love the sound! I'm told once I break it in a bit (3/4 Weeks)it will sound a bit deeper. At idle it sounds deeper but not grunting. But I like that. I have a sleeper at the stoplight, but watch out! ;)

I love the sound of a Flowmaster 80 series on a 3.8 I had one on my 2000 Camaro and it sounded sweet. Nice and loud and really got the looks. The only bad thing was for the first few days my car sounded kinda like a rice rocket. After the muffler burnt in though, it got a beautiful tone that everyone mistook for a V8.

Sweet. Stand behind your car and listen to it as someone takes off (not fast, just cruise up to 2000-2500 rpms) and hear it from there (but make sure its not a stranger, of course ;) )

I HATE my 80 series! I had a 40 series and no cat on my 6 cylinder Jeep and it sounded awsome. Going back to that set up after winter!

If you dont mind me asking, how much was your 80 series. also, did you get yours professionally installed, and did they provide dual pipes? I am looking to get one, but im only 15 and on a budget.

I'm 17 and I bought my flowmasters 80 series from Speedworld. Its a pretty well known chain of car performance stuff. Cost me around $130, even though the website says like $80. I tried to install it myself, but the stock muffler was welded on and I didnt want to mess anything important up. Plus, my stock tips were all rusty and gross.
I also have a question. I bought my flowmasters like maybe 2 weeks ago, and when I got it I noticed a deff difference in sound and performance. After I put on new tips, the sound seemed to have died down significantly. Do I just need to break them in for a few more weeks?

If you can afford the borla i say go for that, its better quality, but way too expensive for me
