  • TB spacer question/info

We have switched to a 3/4" spacer as per request of some of you guys.

Question is this. The spacer currently on the site. What years of cars does that fit and how many other designs are there?

Anyone have the gasket part # of the style spacer we don't have? I'd like to do a run of them.

  • #2
i am pretty sure the spacer i got from you all will fit 99+ FBodies

24506259 is the gm part number for the TB gaskets

I am not sure about other TB designs.. there is atleast one more.. possibly 2..

is 3/4 thicker or thinner hten the one i got from you like 9 months ago??

I could probably go for a thinner one..

i think 95 3.8 to 98 or one kind and 99+ have the different bolt patteren...... as far as i know cause a 98 TB will not bolt on a 99 intake from what i have been told

if I had to guess, possibly vaccum sources? and/or sensors for the kickdown/throttle reference for the auto that wouldn't be necessary on the 5 speed TB.

            There's 2 different designs: 95-98 and 99-02. Yours only fits 99-02.

The part numbers for the gaskets are:

            95-98: 24503432
            99-02: 24506259

FWIW, I think I emailed you these once before when you asked me about the differences.

Sorry, the part numbers for the gaskets are wrong. The part number for both gaskets you gave is the same as the 2nd TB for 95-98. ;)

Edit: Zoomer, here are the pics I sent you on 3/30/04 after talking on the phone about the differences.

My spacer barely leaves enough room to put my Whisper Lid back on, it's REAL snug. But that doesn't concern me much because I'll be going FI soon and that lid will be gone anyways :-P

ohh trust me.. it still makes life hell.. i have been messing with ways to make the inlet pipe fit for my powerdyne kit.. and it has been reallly tempting to just throw the spacer away..

that extra little bit of room would help alot..

but i found a way that works..

Yeah, the Whisper lid is kind of a tight squeeze....but it beats using the stock lid with a smooth bellow. The TB spacer was the reason I switched to the Whisper lid in the first place. It was worth it though....I gained an additional 2 MPG from the spacer.
