Basically, I want a good 'throaty' sound and decent HP gains.. I've heard the Flowmaster and liked the sound.. will the TSP sound similar?
Also, I have a stock cat. would it be smart to wait and buy a high-flow cat and have the high-flow cat and the cat-back installed at the same time.. or would it be a big deal if I had the Cat-back installed first and a high-flow cat installed like 6 mos later?
thanks
Tobes

I love the sound of my flowmaster, but i also want to know what the tsp sounds like, if you want a turbo in the future you defintely want the tsp 3in cat back.
I believe in another post someone ordered the TSP but won't get all the other goodiess till another week, hopefully we can get a sound clip then
I had my catback put on first, and 4 months later i had a shop weld up my hi-flow cat. To save installation do both at same time, but i did my own bolt on catback myself.

god this guy cracks me up. i don't like flowmaster above 3000 RPMs either. sound awesome at idle and very low RPMs, but if you plan on using the gas pedal at all, i'd go with something else. i'm getting the rumbler when i can.

That would be me. The UPS guy brought the last piece I needed (SLP install kit) today!! It is getting installed tomorrow morning! The guy I always goto (he installed my gears and LSD too) said install will be under $100. I will try my best to get a sound clip.
As far as installing the high-flow cat later that seems to happen a lot so it shouldn't matter one way or the other. However, I bought my high-flow cat from summit for $54 (plus like 8 bucks or so for shipping). Part number CTO-6007.

Anyone have any troubles with their TSP? There isnt a warranty on it.. at least Flowmaster has a 1 year warranty in case something is defective.
Also, I'm still shakey on the 3" vs 2.5"... in the future I want to Mod my car as much as financially possible... so I'm assuming it'd be smarter to get the 3" pipes.. is this right?

Please, the reason A Flowmaster doesn't sound so great above 3000 is because of the nature of the V6 engine, not the exhaust. Only reason most of the other exhausts seem better above 3000 is because they are quieter. Also, Flowmasters sound better in time with a little burn-in, and sound clips on the internet don't do it justice. In the 3 years since I've had my Flows installed, I've had about 3-4 people genuinely ask me if it was an 8. They obviously don't know much about F-bodies...but still.
No the reason a flowmaster doesn't sound good is because its a flowmaster. ANY flowmaster product will never again be on one of my cars.

mkay... All aftermarket exhaust on a 3.8L V6 above 3000 makes baby Jesus cry. Better? :D
Mine makes the buttholes of people on the side of the road pucker.
People say the Flowmaster doesnt flow as well as the others.. if i'm looking at staying below $300 for a cat-back whats the best flowing and not obnoxiously loud system I could get?

But what could actually go wrong with the TSP? It is just 3" metal pipe. Feels pretty solid to me. I suppose the billet muffler could have issues. But that doesn't really seem to have much that could go wrong with it either (if you saw it you would understand what I am saying).
How much does that billet muffler on the TSP actually deaden the sound?
