• cat or no cat?

is it better to use a high flow, stock, or no cat at all? i have mine gutted and it sounds nice, but i'm worried about a power loss due to the sensor. any help would be appreciated.

thanks,
bill

The highflow cat is really the best option. With out 350cfm flowing V6s a cat really might only eat 0.2hp at redline. Gutting the cat IMO is unnecessary for modern catalytic converters.

The stock cat would be fine but it constricts to 2.25" which is way too small for performance; hence why a 3" cat provides horsepower increases .

Thanks Dom. I finaly understand :D
I was thinking of just saving up and putting a 3in pipe all the way back. Do you think this would be to much? Do you think I should spend the extra $$ for a highflow cat of just go without?

i understand the hp gains, but would the no cat option actually hurt the performance or not really matter other than that whole planet killing hydrocarbon thing.

i was thinking about just gutting my cat..but keeping the stock 2.25 inch pipes..that way i get better flow..and not too much loss in back pressure..

then ima go ahead and do something with that S PIPE

Sort of. A lot of places will charge you that much... up to $200.

But you can get a Catco from SummitRacing.com for $50-$60.

should i go for direct fit, or universal?

Universal. It's cheaper. You don't need the direct fit for anything; it's just a way to scam you for more money.
