  • Do all the 3800II V6's have the same exhaust??

I know around 2000 they have a slightly diff. exhaust manifold, but basically all year 3800 v6s share the same parts, right?? Cause Summit says they don't have cats for anything pass 98 Camaros. But if it fits under the car it should work rite??

I have a '99 with stock exhaust, they have for 98 Camaros:

    Direct fit(p#:4884)with Y pipe: $233
    Universal(p#:2540) ~16" long: $75
Then I asked about Catco 6007(3"in/out)~14" long: $46

I know the shop can put a pipe to make it from 3" out to the stock 2.25". But wouldn't a 2.5" out be more convenient to connect??? Will a 3" out to a 2.25" S-pipe help power a bit??

I forgot to ask it they have a 3"in 2.5" out, but he only told me the first two on the above list, that's all the computer shows.

    BTW, i live in California,.,.,.,.

The stock cats are 3" in 2.25" out. Try to snag a 2.75" I pipe off a V8 fbody. The S pipe link is in my sig, BUT jegs has a U bend pipe that'll work for the S pipe for 1/2 the price I paid

I just want the cat for now, as the rattling is a bit annoying and it feels like it's clogging up, I sometimes can't get past 4500 RPMs.

I am thinking about getting the Dynomat Catback in a month or two. So my main concern is the outlet size of the cat converter....and S-pipe too, for the moment.

If the Dynomax is 2.5 for the I pipe, then I will get the 3"in and out cat, 2.75 S-pipe.

Again, the main concern is to fix the cat first. The catback is not a "for-sure" thing.

That's what I'm looking to do. Was your pipe that includes the "s" from a LT1 with the single cat? Was it a direct fit, easy install for your v6?
