  • Custom exhaust pics and sound clip

I am a relatively new Camaro owner. The first and only thing I have done so far is exhaust. It cost $250 including installation and I could feel a boost in power, but nothing too great.

It just snowed so the car is filthy

And the sound clip is at http://www.skachilles.com/car/exhaust.mp3

Tell me what you guys think. Besides that and a K&N air filter, the car is stock. Where should I go next?

Just the muffler and tips. I know this sounds stupid but I honestly do not know what kind of muffler it is. Can anyone tell from the pics?

Nah, that looks to small to be a flow. Magnaflow maybe...Evan used to have one and it looked like that...damn those mufflers are tiny!

Especially compared to my Mammoth-sized Edelbrock RPM Series.

Dude first off not to rag on you or anything but why do people say they have custom exhaust? Sorry had to ask I've been wondering this. Second thing on the ricey sound it will go away with time and under a load anybody here if they rack it off in neutral its gonna sound like that. Get a few thousand miles on it and I think it will sound pretty good with that size of muffler it will definetly be loud!!! O and something else I think not completely sure but the muffler is single in dual out but the dual out is on one side or vica versa....

What eles should I call it?

I recorded on a crappy laptop microphone, so the quality is pretty bad. It sounds a bit deeper than that but over 3K RPMs it does get ricey. I've only put about 300 miles on it so far. I appreciate the response, I can handle critisism.

Where should I go from here?

It should be considered a "custom" exhaust if it's anything other than factory. Anytime you change something on your car from stock, you customized it.

The set up looks great. Wait a few thousand miles and that exhaust will sound much better. I don't completely understand how it works, but once a muffler gets burned in, it gets much deeper.

Put on a cold air intake and you'll really notice a boost in power. An intake/exhaust combination really do wonders for our cars.

I don't thinks its a magnaflow.... MOST of them say magnaflow in big letters under the muffler.
                      Unless its an off-the-wall model.

how about a flopro or a walker muffler? those seem to be the ones that most shops carry offhand.
