  • Tips before SLP CAI?

Anyone have any advice or tips about putting in the SLP CAI? I just bought one from a member off this board and I'm gonna put it in tomorrow. I didnt recieve the plastic block off plate, is it needed? If you have pics of the install or know where a guide is, that'd be helpful. btw, its for a 95 bird

One tip I have for you is to put a large piece of cardboard in front of your radiator when working on putting the CAI into the car. If not, you run the risk of banging up the radiator, which is extremely easy to do.

Have fun with the filters that is the biggest pain in the butt. Also i had to make the airflow sensor longer by cutting at the tape and stuff it works now. Love it. Best mod yet. Have fun!

its not as easy as the directions make it. not hard at all but you won't be done in 30 mins. I took mine off and put it back on in like 45 and that was for the 3rd time!

heh, i wouldn't worry about that part. if ya want, i can sell mine to ya. i didn't use mine because it's so hard to get the filters to stay on the end of the stupid pipes cause they don't give you enough room to fit the block off plate very well. so i either had to sacrafice the extra 3/8s of an inch of pipe and run the risk of having a filter or both fall off the tips of the pipes, or i could sacrafice the block-off plate. well, i sacraficed the block-off plate. i don't really think it's going to stop much hot engine air from getting into your filters anyway; not too mention, i don't think that the one little piece of plastic is what gives you 25 hp...overall, i doubt the whole mod gives you 10 hp.
