I think the deal w/ the home made CAI really depends on how much money you have to spend or want to spend on an intake...
if you want to spend 160 extra go for it, but for 40 you have have a decent intake. I may get the SLP down the road, but right now it doesnt seem like its worth it to me. It seems to me though, that even if you have that 160 you could put it towards something else that would be more beneficial... I mean thats almost half a set of headers, or could put that towards a really nice catback...or it could start your SuperSix Power Pack fund =P or a lot of things, its just that a great CAI intake wont give you tremendous gains and a decent one wont give you horrible gains, I dont know how close they would be in performance. 12secv6 says he had a difference between the two, he def knows his sh!t, so there ya go, but I think the custom one makes a good first mod, and I think thats what your asking about =P

All depends on your application and what you are looking for. Overall, it's not bad, but it does not remove the speed limiter and the gains are just so-so. When I got it, it was about the only thing on the market except for custom programming by Ed Wright and I didn't wanna spend that much money so early in the modification stage. If you can find one used for a decent price, I would suggest jumping on it. It's better than nothing.- Josh
If you have any questions or need installation pics/help, e-mail me: Viper98885@aol.com
\'93 Camaro Hardtop
\'01 Lincoln LS8 Sport
\'00 Yamaha YZF-R6
Full Throttle Performance
