I was told that a 3" pipe will not fit, but it has to b/c people have 3" cat-backs. Unless over the axle they drop down to 2.75 I was also told taht would fitMike
www.my99firebird.gq.nu

The Edelbrock cat-back kit does have a 3" pipe over and around the rear. It is 2 pieces. The "I" pipe gets reduced about half way, to accept the small dia pipe on the v6's. Just cut off the reduced part and weld on a 3" section, about 2' worth, and you'll have a total 3" mandrel bent system.97 Automatic Firebird Convertible
Powerdyne SC, Precision Industries converter, MSD ignition, 3\" Cat, 3\" true cat back exhaust, \"posi\" with 3.42 rear, 14.028, 14.054 and 14.044 1/4 mile times before ignition, cat and exhaust.
