So I've got my Magnaflow on...sounds good, but not quite as low as I'd like when the revs climb. Are there any good resonators I could use? I'm getting my cat replaced next week, so that's pretty much all of the funding I have left, but if a good resonator can be had at a decent price, I might be able to squeeze that in, unless it isn't recommended.

I guess you could put a resonator somewhere before it, it would help quiet it down a bit. Are you wanting us to tell you a specific brand?

good luck fitting one under the car and not having it rattle/bump. my flowmaster catback came with a square resonator that comes off the side of the I pipe into a little compartment on the underside of the car. i think its useless honestly and it creates rattling issues. i think i may just cut it out. bad news is that rasp isnt going to go anywhere, most everyones setup has rasp and those who dont, have a setup that was blessed.Black 1996 3.8 Firebird T5, SLP CAI, Pacesetter Ceramic Headers,160* t-stat, PCMforLess Tune, Flowmaster American Thunder catback, Car Sounds Cat, custom s-pipe, MSD coils and wires, NGK plugs, 3.42 posi rear, B&M Ripper, 245/50 BFG-G-force's

Actually, the volume is perfect, if not just a little bit too quiet, so I probably shouldn't do it? I'm not wanting it for that, I just want to deepen the tone a little more.1998 Firebird
V6 M5
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2239301/1

Theres really not THAT much you can do about rasp, other then getting a new muffler. Our cars are pretty much ALWAYS going to have rasp.

yes they help out a little bit but you cant really get rid of it. the v6 will always have at least a little rasp no matter what.

back on topic. you could easily fit a resonator in your i pipe. but thats not your problem, the stock piping is. the smaller the piping the higher the pitch will be. stock is 2 1/4, most people go for 2 1/2 or 3in, you can probably get piping off of a v8 there stock piping is like 2 5/8 or something odd like that.2002 35th Anniv. I think I'm gonna wait about a year and see if I'll be in the financial place to swap an LS1 or buy a Trans-Am. I didn't have them replace all of the piping because they only did crush bends... crappy place.
If it rattled, couldn't I just use some header wrap?1998 Firebird
V6 M5
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2239301/1

it depends why its rattling. if it is rattling becuz of something under the car then yeah you could just stick something in between it and what it is rattling on.2002 35th Anniv.
