  • exhaust conflict with A/C delete pulley and belt question

I'm putting a 3.4 in my miata and am just mocking up the engine on the frame, I have to decide where I want the exhaust to go. There is no room beside the engine/tranny on the passenger side due to the starter, etc. I basically have 2 options:

1: passenger side exhaust goes down and to the side and down out between the back of the dual wishbones and hugs the inner rear wheel well, then under the car and back. I've checked and cam accomplish this with no conflict to the suspension, but it would be a pain.

2: bring the passenger side exhaust around the front and low, then mate with the drivers side exhaust and down beside the engine and tranny and back.. Very easy to do here... but there is a problem...

I don't think i have enough room to bring the header around the front of the engine... the alternator is in the way and even more a problem the factory A/C delete pulley.

is there a way to remove the pulley and put on a smaller belt? that would make clearance.
