• 3" flowmaster and 3" hiflow cat in...please read

first off, wow, its hella load, like seriously so... hopefully the sound will even out in time, and once i've added the SLP CAI...
no SES light, yet.... got it installed by a pro (didn't have a welder :( ), but only cost $130CDN, and the guy did a real good job... the 3.5" magnaflow tips look awsome, i'll get some pics up this weekend...

here's my question, the exhaust was rattling on the crossmember piece, behind the cat, so i've taken it off, is this piece of metal really important, or can i leave it off... i may be able to bend it a bit, and put it back on... but i'd like to hear some stories...

by the way, 3" systems are so nice sounding

system: 17143 flowmaster, 3" carsound hiflow cat, 3.5" 15 degree rolled tip pipes (22" long)

Mine has been off for about 6 months now and no problems, but I think that my car twists a little more in turns.

I plan on putting it back on with some spacers but I haven't had time.

I bent the brace down on each side with a crescent wrench.

only my u-clamp was rattling against it so i cut out a 1/2" x 3" slot for the clamp to sit in. didnt hurst effectiveness of the brace and no more rattle. i only had the 2 1/2" system so i might have had a little exra room. see if its your exhaust or just the clamp.

I need to get some washers and stick them between the fram and that clamp so my pipe won't rattle lol.

sorry man, i love the flowmaster's, had 2.5" on my 95, so i thought 3" would do for my 97... the cat had to be hiflow, and i've heard such good things about carsound... the tips, i was unsure about what i wanted, but i was at my GM parts department, and they had some there, slash cut 3" or my rolled cut 3.5", he said he bought them for $41 CDN each, showed me the invoise and said he'd let me have both for $100 CDN, so i said 'hell yeah'... didn't think the 3" were big enough

sorry for not being original... i wasn't trying to copy anyone... honest
