What the hell is this, how is it done and what does gmmg stand for. How pricey is this?? How does it sound?? Is the horsepower gains better than normal cat back??

You do not need a GMMG exhaust to get max power out of your car. That exhaust can flow a lot of air through it, more than most, but since our cars only flow about half of that max amount, you'd be better off buying a flowmaster 3" exhaust/dynomax 3", ect. Also, our cars have no use for an x-pipe since we have a y-pipe tie the 2 collectors together to the cat, and after that, we only have 1 pipe going to the rear muffler.2001 Arctic White Firebird<br />More mods than I\'m allowed to list!

well as far as i know, only 2 v6's have that exhaust. Me(scott) and scott (scott black). I cant really give an accurate comparision to other exhausts, but i love mine. scott black was talking of a way to run an x-pipe with the way the exhaust is designed. if you go to ttp://www.gmmginc.net/html/chamberedexhaust.html
it'll give you a better idea of what hes thinkin

Tell that to the LS1 boys.
An X pipe will work freakin awesome on ours, provided that it is set up correctly and has the right size pipes. I haven't done it yet simply because i'm doing my 'verter first, then i will order the kit. I still have my GMMG so i can do that as well.
Scott if you say a word about how i'm doing this you shall smell of monkey balls forever!
When i do it i will take pics for everyone. No really, i will this time, LOL

The LS1 boys run the X-pipe setup by replacing everything; catback, cats, y-pipe. There is no way to properly run an x-pipe with an off the shelf catback. How would you do that? Off the manifolds to duals, through the x-pipe and back to duals, then through a y-pipe and into the catback?? That's alot more complex than it's worth. If you mean running duals to an x-pipe, and then out through separate mufflers that obviously works, but a stock GMMG system wouldn't work with that. You could use the chambered mufflers and tips by getting rid of everything upstream of the split in the GMMG and running the duals over the axle to the muffler, but that would be a snug fit and there are far cheaper ways to do it than paying $700 for two chambered mufflers and tailpipes.
Scott, if you are talking about running a dual system without using the GMMG in your above post, ignore the above. But in relation to the first post in the thread, if you want to run chambered mufflers with an X-pipe, you don't want to buy the GMMG. You're spending alot more than you need to. Buy the mufflers from a place likeSweet Thunder, and have your exhaust shop set you up with the piping. If you had the GMMG already, then it might make sense, but I would sell the system and buy the mufflers separate and save a couple hundred bucks.

Hahahaha, go ahead and tell me there is no way to do it. My exhaust WILL exit in the stock location, go over the axle, and be run through an X pipe. It is really not that hard once you actually think about it. The link that was posted will give you what you need to know. Trust me, it WILL be done.

I didn't say you couldn't run an X-pipe system. I didn't even say you couldn't modify a GMMG to work. I said it wouldn't make sense to use a "stock" catback configuration with and x-pipe. If you are running an X-pipe and then back into a single pipe to use a "stock" catback setup; please go ahead and ask an exhaust shop to bend that up for you. And please get a sound clip of it, not the exhaust, but the shop's reaction when you ask for it ;)
I can think of a number of ways to run pipes back to the two chambered mufflers in the rear. Two smaller diameter pipes over the axle in the stock location. Or a pipe on each side, one in the stock location and one squeezed in somewhere on the driver's side. Just keep an eye out for the panhard rod. Then you could run the pipes into the crossfiring muffler setup of the GMMG. Each is possible and has been done before. You could separate the mufflers and connect them before the axle where a lot of V8 guys are running their bullet mufflers. My point is, if you are gonna run a true dual system with chambered mufflers, there are far cheaper, and just as effective, methods to do so without dropping $700 for a GMMG and then hacking it up.
And on a side note, what's with all the secrecy in some of your posts. You seem to like to get people to beg for insight into your mods, instead of providing them with info to aid their progress? Does it make you feel like ? ;)
