• just installed highflow cat - pissed off !

    wow, it sounds horrible

I have a '02 bird with intake done, and borla catback exhaust

this damn hiflow cat sounds like crap, sounds like rice, tons of popping noise now when you let off the gas

and for some reason, when I roll in neutral it revs to 1,000 rpms, then back down again.

I wish I never bought the damn thing

borla fits like ****, and rattles some times, and rattles a LOT with this new cat

It sound like rice and you have a 3in I-pipe? What is the deal with that? I would be so mad!! That sucks dude. Keep the highflow cat and get a dynomax.

Is it becuase of the borla, or the high flow cat. I going to do that after, I get my volant airbox to finsih off my ram air hood. By the way do you know if that combo will work?? Volant Airbox with the SLP Ram Air H.O. Hood?

the sound was fine before the hiflow cat, the cat f*cked it all up

i saved for over a month, used all my god damn paychecks for this exhaust system, I doubt they'll let me return it

i just spend dollar after f*cking dollar on this car, and nothing ever works out

im embaressed to drive my car now, i drive around in high gears so it wont sound loud and ricey

It sounds like your highflow cat was either not installed right, or damaged.

Or it might be that your heat shield on it is loose and rattling. That's an easy fix. Just take it back in and have them spot-weld it. Doesn't take 5 min.

Also curious. I plan on getting a 3" catco to go with my 3" catback/cutout. Loudest v6 is my goal.

Check my sig for my exhaust setup. Sounds great. Muhc louder than stock but not too loud unless you get up around 3000 rpms. My borla and catco 3 inch highflow cat work fine toghether... I couldnt be any happier. I think your problem is the installation, or maybe a bad cat...Not the borla---

I have a flowmaster 80 series w/ dual tips (not sure what kind they were on it when i bought it) and its sounds OK. Not as loud as I thought it would be. But then again I did have a huge hole in my muffler before I put the flomaster on. hehe

And can anybody tell me how ravin and dynomax sound compared to flowmaster? I was thinkin about getting the dynomax but somebody told me that flowmaster would sound better but then I came here and more people seem to prefer the dynomax.

One more thing, how much of a sound/performace difference will will removing/hollowing out the catalytic converters make?
