• UPDATE Dominic's new exhaust

Alright guys I got the parts, Im just waiting to install it, but here is what I'm doing that some of you have picked up on or heard about I've kept it a secret from most people for a while but here is the official post.

Im doing a true dual system under my car, 2.25", with 18" sweet thunder mufflers, and dynomax cats. Im not doing a crossover on this system unless I find later it needs one, I seriously don't think I will want one

For those of you that don't believe i have the parts:

Those pieces are simply put in order, but will not be welded like that... I just did that for the image. The exhaust will be coming out the back, not turn downed under the car.

Parts cost: $250
Labor cost: $150-200 estimate

Im having a race shop do it, not a muffler shop. The guy doing is is named Mark and owns www.marksautoservice-performance.com (If its burns gas we can make it fast) :D

If any of you want more details on this system just pop me an email or IM or post here. The tentative installation is next week, since Mark is ordering some 2.25" exhaust dies for his pipe bender right now just to do this job.

i might have to road trip up to FSU soon to visit my friends and check out your car while i'm there. i've thought about switching to sweet thunders but i don't want to spend the money and i'm a little scared how it will sound.

I'd like to be updated on this too. One of the cheapest exhausts, and its a true dual! I just hope it sounds good.

Nope, I seriously doubt I will have an SES. I have studied the corvette true dual inside and out, and I have seen many other setups, and mine is the best of all of them. Its simple and the cats Im using and route Im going will ensure no SES. If for some unseen reason I get an SES, an O2 sim is a quick fix. It will be 100% emissions smog legal too, and will flow better than a single 3" pipe without causing rasp.

Why don't you get it H pipe or X pipe it? This is really interesting though, I would like to see your results.

Well Im not saying I wont eventually get an H pipe or X pipe on this sytem but here are my reasons to start out with:

1. Xpipes cost $40 or so and Im trying to save money.
2. Most old muscle cars never came with a crossover, it gives them a distinctive sound you just can't get when you put a crossover on it.
3. The crossover is mainly to balance the unequal firing of a V8. Our cars fire L/R/L/R/L/R and cycle through in a very even manner, no double blast down one side of the exhaust, so it shouldnt be necessary for performance reasons.
4. I can always add one later to change the sound of the system.
