Because our cars are dependent on the rear 02 senser as a total from both sides to the y-pipe. the O2 senser will not like the exhaust reading from only one side. It may work with just one o2 sim but I without testing I can not be sure.

Oh yea.. I have DIY for an O2 sim if you end up needing to go that route. Parts only cost $20 and my friend happens to have one for me sitting around, I'm sure we can work a deal out...

where would you even plug in the second o2 sim?

BTW I'll buy that extra o2 sim off your hands when you find out you don't need it.

AFAIK, on my car, there is only one post cat O2... thats the only one Im worried about, and that one will go on the right pipe. It will get less flow, but the %O2 in the exhaust should be within limits.

Just keep checking this thread. Im getting a bit angry now, its been more than a month, so maybe I'll find a new shop to do it.

Im going to call around right now and search for a new place to have my work done... :(

I was wondering how this will bolt up under the car? I assume you arent using the stock hanger since there's only enough for 1 pipe. Whats your plan to make it fit?

GOOD NEWS

I have an exhaust appointment with a performance shop in Panama City bch, FL :D

For anyone who would like to join in with me, shoot me an IM or email and let me know you're coming!

Email: dgo@cox.net
AIM: XXI Dominic

Address of Shop:
Mad Hatter Exhaust :D (I like this name)
506 Thomas Dr.
Panama City, FL 32408
850-234-5253

Im going there Tuesday, Sept 23. My appointment is scheduled for 1:00PM Central Time.

They seemed extremely nice, none of the shops around here in town would touch it, so I hope they do good work. I've heard of them before, so that is a good thing. I'm taking two photos with me of installs done on LS1s for show and tell, hopefully to demonstrate several plausible options for running the piping. Its a very simple design, and that makes it cheap to install.

You say it's a simple design... You're going over the axle correct? Are you taking both pipes to one side or taking one pipe over each side?

Dominic, it should be VERY easy for any shop to fab that up. All you need is a tube on the driver side to mate the primary with the extensions.

I would do X pipe though, it would help with sound quality.

The cats should definately keep it mild to prevent any weird notes.

On my LS1 I run moroso spiral flows off the headers for now but I did pick up a Dr Gas X-Pipe kit that I plan to use. As is with the spiral flows off the long tubes, the car is obnoxiousely scary.

vroom vroom.

Sounds good Magnus, Im excited its finally coming together. Its not a difficult thing to do, and I might do an X pipe, but I want to *try* it without one first Nothing says I wont come home with an X pipe on it though.

I will be taking a few hundred photos of the work so people get a very good idea how I did it as well.

So you went with the spirals huh? Those are very odd looking I hope they flow well. I hear they sound good.

And yes, I've got cats, as was stated before.

how do you plan on routing th epipes underneath the car?

would the X pipe go after the cats to keep it emissions legal? what about a simple H pipe?

H pipes dont work nearly as well as an x pipe.

Dominic good luck with the exhaust. I keep checking this thread waiting for sound clips and pics of the exhaust installed. It looks like a great system.
