• That sucks that you're getting rid of it Dom, you put a lot of time and research into these. Are you gonna change anything more with your exhaust, or just go back to completely stock?

      • Think you could get a clip of it with the bullets before you take it off? Did they help at all, or just make it worse?

        • If you want quiet you need to add MUFFLERS.

those chambered things and bullets are NOT mufflers.

Get yourslef a good set of mufflers, ditch the chambers and bullets and it will be MUCH quieter.

          • Well I dont mind rumble, or hell a little bit loud... But when my 480W stereo cant conquer it when cruising I just cant handle it

I'd keep the true dual, however there is no room for mufflers like you said Magnus.

So, yeah, if all my stock stuff still exists, Im going back to stock. I might do something later, but for now I just want it like it was before I messed it up.

              • If you're looking to keep the duals, there is one other option for reduced sound level. Magnaflow, Spintech, and probably several other muffler manufacturers make dual in/out mufflers. If you were willing to go with a SLP Two-on-the-Left style look, you could run both pipes through a muffler like this and have them both exit on the driver's side. I think the Magnaflow ones even have a built-in x-pipe-style feature. There's even a Dynomax Super Turbo available like this if you're willing to go with that look. That should quiet it down quite a bit.

I've been through several exhausts on my car trying to get a good mix of sound/volume/performance/looks, and from that experience I'd hate to see you waste this money so quickly. I once had a muffler setup that was on my car one day, and replaced the next. It sucks to waste money that quickly.

Try and find a way to keep the duals, it sounds good and you're one of the first to try it on a v6. It's definately possible. Don't give up just yet.

                • Yes its a lot faster over the stock setup.. the car hauls balls, but its not what I want.

I think I'll mod it later, I just feel like crap blowing $500 on something I hate.

                  • if you have duals out the back then there is no reason you can't fit mufflers under there man. You don't need MASSIVE mufflers like the stock unit, you need dual mufflers, they are smaller more compact, and muffle.

                    • Instead of two bullets at the back put 2 Flowmaster 40 Series on there. They should quieten down the sound and give it a nice deep flowmaster tone.

                      • Thats right. dual flowmasters sound absolutely wonderful on these cars. I think I am the only v6 owner that has done true dual flowmasters? But I mounted them in the back and every one on the board thought they were ugly and made fun of me. Got lots of compliments and business for my shop around town though. if you want to see pics let me know.

                          • I would really like to hear it in person, because most sound clips I've ever heard don't do the sound justice at all. Anyway, good job on a unique setup.

                            • Dom dont give up on it man. 1st get rid of those junk chamber mufflers and replace them with some Summit long smooth tube muffler made out of 304 SS (SUM-630622). There are 24" long so they should be more than enough to help quiet down the sound but yet still have a nice rumble to it. Also i would suggest to have an H-pipe installed. An H-pipe along will smooth out the sound and give it more of a mellow tone. Try those things, i know the mufflers are expensive but from what i hear they are awesome.
