you have no reason to put premium fuel in!
unless you are running boost, have advanced timing, or have crazy knock going on.

although sometimes they put extra lube or cleaners or something in premium (not worth the extra cost though)

edit: Major engine mods is another reason for higher octane fuel

I run 89 O'chotane in my car, and that is a bit overboard...
          but it's my money.
You don't need premium gas! Your mods aren't nearly enough to require the need for it. But you can be bullheaded like me (see my quote again).

Not everyone uses high octane because they need it. No matter what car or mods you have, more refined fuel is always better for the car. I would do it if I had the money. Maybe it makes him sleep better at night.

yea my car runs alot better on premium, its better for your engine anyway. and the army pays me pretty well so i can afford it. i mean its only about 20 cents more per gallon anyway. so why not? i've been putting 93 in it for well over a year now. lol

the fuel isnt more refined by any means. "premium" is a marketing term. fuel is fuel. the only difference b/w 92 and 87 is the amount of octane ADDED to it. the octane is harder to burn so it helps reduce knock. if you wanna argue about brands, you could probably till the cows come home. maybe shell is more refined than bubba's gas stop, who knows, but as far as fuel grade goes, you're not getting anything more pure by paying 20 cents more. but then again, despite all the amsoil and mobil commercials, i still only trust a 3,000 mile oil change, so if thats ur cup of tea, thats cool. just wanted my 2 cents in that

i feel your pain. try driving on 95 at 1 in the morning and having your exhaust falling off and then you have to pull over and take it off the hangers on 95 with cars going by you. then driving 100 miles home like that. hehe

yeah that happened to me. it wasn't much louder than my car is now so it wasn't that bad.

I like how he was asked what mods he had that require premium fuel, and he lists everything done to the car. None of which is engine related. Not dissing, just kinda amused by it.

Also, your right tailpipe fell off. Is this your tailpipe after the muffler? Or do you not have a stock muffler? I can't understand why it makes the car any louder from the description. It sounds like maybe you have dual straight pipes straight from the headers? Thats cool, if so.

i told you that that was not all of my mods. no i dont have the stock muffler. ok, on the right side of the muffler there is two outlets that a pipe can be welded to, one from the headers and one for the exaust tip, the pipe with the exaust tip came off, well actually i kinda broke it off since it was almost dragging the ground.lol but it wasnt where the welder welded the pipe on, the whole outlet broke off. it got rusted real bad i think. oh well.
