I'm just wondering why most of you buy the LS1 or LT1 Flowmaster catbacks and not the American Thunder catback made for the 3.8. A lot of you buy the others and say how ricey it gets in the higher rpms but the v6 setup has a resonator on the I pipe and a bigger 80 series muffler to eliminate most ricey sounds with 3 inch tips. I have it and its a great catback.

Yea but you also have a Dynomax Bullet in place of your cat. I highly dought the resonator is doing you any favors.2004 Dodge Dakota 3.7 litres of raw power!!
Nothing but a 6!
Do you know for sure? John 3:18

Was wondering why so many of you dont buy the catback for the V6, why do so many just get the LT1 and LS1 version.2003 Nissan 350Z Touring Coupe, Daytona Blue, Frost leather interior, navigation, 18 inch wheels, M6, fully loaded, intake, crank pulley.

Previous cars:
1991 Mustang (347)
2002 RS Camaro
1985 IROC-Z (305)
1994 Camaro convertible V6

Because it is a 3inch system instead of a puny 2.5 with a gay resnator that hurts the sound more than helps it.2004 Dodge Dakota 3.7 litres of raw power!!
Nothing but a 6!
Do you know for sure? John 3:18

Toast, you may think the resonator hurts it but I bet my high end is deeper than yours. I dont have the ricey sounds on the high end.2003 Nissan 350Z Touring Coupe, Daytona Blue, Frost leather interior, navigation, 18 inch wheels, M6, fully loaded, intake, crank pulley.

Previous cars:
1991 Mustang (347)
2002 RS Camaro
1985 IROC-Z (305)
1994 Camaro convertible V6

11 hp gains from flowmaster 3.8 system.
Dynod.
Popular hot rodding magazine.
It uses a thicker muffler and a resonator to prevent the gay poping / raspy noise.
I'd rather my muffler be a little bit quiter then sound like complete *** when u rev it.1997 Chevrolet Camaro
5 Speed STD 3.8L V6
Mods: !cat, Cherry Bomb Super Turbo muffler
15.9@86mph 2.353 60\'@1600ft
400,000km

Sorry... No "gay popping/raspy noise" here with my 3inch. People usually say you don't feel a difference with going from 2.25 to 2.5inch. Which is why a lot of us go to the 3inch. I have only seen the best times with the 3inch system. So until you guys got the numbers with your systems I have yet to be corrected.
OH and IWantaFbodyAgain I can rev my car up completely and I don't sound like a complete *** . Oh wait, thats right, your a rookie, you probably don't know what the **** your talking about.

I'll have to take a clip of mine. I have all that, but a carsound cat. Most of the newer ones seem to make more rasp because of their tubular manifolds. I have wraparounds so it might make a difference. But I sware to you it doesn't get raspy at all. I have one clip of when I first got it at
www.silentsystem.net/flow.mpg
Unfortunatley I didn't rev it up to 4k. But I will make you a video to prove to you that it doesn't get raspy. In 2 more months, I won't even have to worry about this anyway, I will have an LS1.

i got borla, and it sounds good as **** all around. but the flowmasters ive heard on 6cyl camaros sound real good at low rpm's, and at WOT or anything above 3500rpm they sound like ABSOLUTE CRAP! i know someone with a 3.8 and i was following them, and they floored it w/ a flowmaster exhaust system, and i actually looked around for a honda. i didnt even realize it was his car.

our exhaust always sounds good inside the car. You need someone to drive your car around infront of your house or something. Borla doesn't sound that good at all at any rpm.1999 Firebird Black
A4 3.08 gears
Mods: Carbon Fiber Whisper Lid, Raised Air Box, K&N Air Filter, Direct Hits Ignition, Flowmaster American Thunder 3\", 160 Degree Hypertech Thermostat, SLP Fan Switch, 3\" High Flow Cat
My car on Cardomain

yeah that vid you posted, sounds like my car cept myne is a bit louder I think, But if u rev it to 4k in gear or out of gear it gets raspy, you just cant hear it in the vehicle just when ur outside.
I put on a 22" cherry bomb because my old muffler was rusted and I was low on cash (just had to spend $300 on lifters, pushrods, gaskets, 230k on engine)1997 Chevrolet Camaro
5 Speed STD 3.8L V6
Mods: !cat, Cherry Bomb Super Turbo muffler
15.9@86mph 2.353 60\'@1600ft
400,000km
