my exhaust rattles but only on start up, for about a minute, then it goes away. is it maybe my muffler just warming up or something? anyone ever had this problem?

I just replaced a friends exhaust that was doing the same thing ... the CAT had a huge chunk of crap inside that was rattling around.

the cat is a few months old, and it sounds like its coming from further back than the y-pipe. i might just put it up on jacks and start it and look around. any other ideas?

also check the heat shield around the cat / muffler ... may be loose

My answer is this: F Bodies just rattle in general. Looks of squeaks and rattles compared to other cars.

I have this **** too. I have headers, and when I start my car and its cold the whole car shakes for a few minutes, shivers, vibrates, all sorts of horrid noises. I have yet to figure it out.
