  • question about loudness of exhaust

like stated in my previous post here "flowmaster 40 series" i have jus a single in dual out flowmaster. my question is, do the size of your tips really make that much a difference in overall loudness of the exhaust? recently ive been told that the bigger your tips the louder its going to be, this true? my tips are either 2.25 or 2.5 im not sure dont remember and dont feel like going to my car. btw ive had plenty of compliments on my exhaust, and even fooled a couple people who thought it was a 8. thanks for any answers

bigger tips will give your exhuast a little more sound but not a whole lot IMO. try it out and see what you think.

its really a combination. The air flow of your exhaust is what mostley controls loundness. Your tips have the effect on tone. Theres more to is than just that but if you changed tips chances are you'll hear a different note, but it'll be the same loundness.
