• Solved- Flowmaster 40 Pop Noise

(I dunno if anyone else has noticed this)

A lot of people along with me have noticed that the flowmaster 40 series has a popping noise around 5,000 rpm's. This bugged me a bit, but I still liked it. However, I just got done installing the Bosch +4 Platinum spark plugs Ive had since Christmas. They improved a number of things, but I was really excited to hear that the Flowmaster pop/clicky/ricey noise was gone! I didnt even think about this until after they were on, but when i reved it up...! 2 thumbsup to Bosch!

Hmmmmm, I wonder if there is any scientific reasoning behind that?

hmmm could it be that the plugs are putting out a larger spark and burning up all the fuel so it doesnt backfire in the exhaust?

          just what im thinking.

And if its due to the plugs, then any type of platinum plug will work. The Bosch platinum +4 plugs are ment for 100,000 miles befor first change.

The spark only hits one arch at a time,(not all 4 as some people think) when that arch (or whatever u call it) burns up, the spark hits the next one and so on till they are all burned up, then its time to buy a new spark plug.

If your car runs rich you will have some afterfire occurring anyway, especially when your exhaust is hot....
