MAF Screen

I am new to camarov6 and I notice that some of you have done a MAF Screen mod in your profiles. Did you just remove it? Isn't this a bad idea - I noticed that my screen has caught a few particles. But I also noticed how restrictive it looks - this there an after market screen available?
