    anyone just put PVC pipe in or on the TB and put like a K&N 3" cone on it or anything like that? i would imagine it ouwl add like 5hp since our stock intake and stuff is really restrictive(3.8-1996) if so can you get me a like to the pics

    It is possible, but having the filter open to the engine like that would only result in sucking in the hot engine air. With your 1996 3.8 there are Cold Air kits, more commonly know as CIA's that are basicly the same thing, but will utilize the cold air from inside the fender. Colder -> more oxegen ->more power -> BETTER. You can find these CAI at anyone of the sponsers on this site.

      I've done it, didn't work very well.

      Eventually the air around the filter got so hot that it heated the hose clamp that holds the filter onto the pipe, and the hose clamp melted through the filter, twice.

        get some rubber couplers and some stainless exhaust pipe and a k&n cone..

        50-75$ done!

        just got make sure it all fits together..

        friends of mine and i have made liek four intakes using this method and it works pretty well.. there are similar and in some cases better gains then buying a retail cai..
