Well I ordered my SLP CAI, On monday of this week. I am so excited It will probably be here by wednesday. Well I went and looked at the tech pages on Firebirdv6.com and those were not to helpful on the install I was just wondering if anyone has Setup a site with instructions on install. Also does it come with instructions. My dad, his friend, and I are gonna put it in. I wanna make it as easy as possible. Is there anything really important to do or not to do as so i dont mess my car up! Thanks guys
It's reallllly easy and I'm still a newbie at cars.
Here's the deal:
Remove all old airbox assembly crap. You'll notice the restrictive, big pieces of black plastic going into the throttle body. Make sure you take the original sensor out of the old stock intake. Then, position new SLP CAI accordingly, putting the sensor into the new elbow. Make sure you have both air filters SECURELY on the piping and reset PCM after you're done. That's about it. It should come with the instructions. It's all pretty straight-forward and only take you maybe about 45 minutes to do everything from start to finish.
The only problem I ran into was that I couldn't get the IAT (Incoming Air Temp. sensor) to fit into the rubber elbow on the SLP CAI. But by cutting the rubber piece off from around the IAT sensor, it fit perfectly.
RacerJ, glad to hear you had the same problem with the IAT sensor not fitting with the rubber ring. I also removed the rubber ring to make it fit into the elbow and was wondering if anyone else had the same problem.
Fusion, one more thing I had to to do was re-route the wires/connector that attached to the IAT sensor in the elbow.

The install wasn't too bad, just small things that a while like getting the sensor out of the old piece and putting the filters on. We were able to remove most of the screws but there were TWO that we didn't have a socket for (BTW, anyone know what size the two smaller ones are?).
Once you take it on the highway or open street and gun it, you'll feel it.

Guys I'm kinda wondering how long it will take to get here. I was reading on the SLP Board and people were pretty pissed off about how long it was taking... I ordered VIA internet...I'm calling them tomorrow to make sure the ball is rolling on my order. Some people it had been like 3 weeks and No CAI or anything :( Any of you deal with SLP and shipping and stuff. If so did you call, fax or email your order.
I ordered my CAI off SLPonline.com last Thursady night and just got an email today that it had been shipped. Supposedly it does usually take from 7-10 days for items to ship from them. Hope that helps
