• Edelbrock Catback

What's the word on the Edelbrock catback. I'm thinking of buying it. For the price it looks like a good deal compared to the higher end catbacks (ie. Borla and B&B) It's 3" in and 2.5" out and I believe it uses the RPM Series Muffler. The web site claims that "Testing verified that these mufflers ran quieter and produced more power than the competition" It does not name the competition except for Hooker units. So what do you guys think? I don't want something too loud and/or raspy and I heard someone here with it on a 3.4 and it sounded good. Any comments/suggestions would be appreciated!

I like my Edelbrock alot. It has a real good sound all the way through once it breaks in and it gets better all the time. I just recently had a 3" put in the whole way through the system and it sounds real good.

I have an Edelbrock 3" catback with the rpm series muffler, two words- sounds great. The car SOUNDS like a sports car not just looks like it. I have had it on actually for 4 days now and have gotten alot of compliments on how good it sounds. The muffler is stainless steel and the aluminum coating on the pipes is nice and thick. Along with the warranty and great price, you cant beat it

I also have it - sounds great. Could be a little bit louder, but I'm adding a High-Flow cat to my system soon, so that should help a little.

              Definately get an edelbrock

Jegs and Summit list price for the Edelbrock is around $280 - does that sound right to you guys? Also, I noticed it is specific to 97 and earlier 3.8s. Does anyone have the Edelbrock on their 98+ 3.8? I thought the hangers were different on 98+?

Yeah they changed the hangars on the '98+ cars, but any competent exhaust shop should be able to make it work for you.

got mine from summit for 280---free shipping :D

I LOVE the way it sounds. I really wanna get tips now though. I have had two problems with it though...the morons that put it on my car somehow made one of the outlets longer than the other so that they had to hack saw it off. Also, the pipe right behind the cat buzzes against the cross member at random times.

Once I find someone with some jack stands im gonna buy some radiator hose, split it in two and put it between the pipe and the cross member.
