DON'T take out the MAF screen on pre 99 F-bodies.
The trottle body is different and you will get a really bad idle. HOWEVER, reactions are mixed so you might be one of the lucky ones and you can remove it with no problems. GOOD LUCK!

No difference at all really. I rode with mine off for a few months. I think people are getting a little drastic when they say really bad idle. It's not really noticeable at first, but it kinda shakes a little bit, thats why I put mine in because it got on my nerves. But I guess if your curious your going to do it anyway. The MAF screen is on the throttle body and please don't cut it out or jam objects into it to get it out. Theres a retainer ring you can easily pop out with a screw driver to remove the screen.

You should not remove the screen, as it impacts the MAF sensor readings. You might want to read the write-up about it in the Tech Database.

FirebirdGT or anybody else that can help: I admit I'm a bit slow today, but I can't find a writeup on the MAF screen in the tech database. Can somebody link me to it or point me in the right direction? Thanks

I didn't say that - I said it impacts the MAF readings, which it does, regardless how you believe the car is running.

Sorry, it was in Engine Tech. I keep forgetting since I wrote it all as the Tech Database, but we split it into Tech Database and Engine Tech.
