Does the v6 have enough back presure for that exhust?

When i purchased my exhaust from summit, it was designed for an LT1 and it fit almost perfectly. Only problem was that i needed a reducer that went from 3" to 2 1/4".
Dont believe in that whole, "you'r going to lose hp if your exhaust is too big." I bought the american thunder 3" exhaust system from flowmaster and i'm 100% satisfied.
Only problem i have is that my stock y-pipe is rattleing like hell, not sure if it was caused due to the exhaust or just cause its a crappy design. I have a new one so im gonna put that one on soon enough.

you never loose the hp you actually just move it up into a powerband that you only stay in for a very short time at wot while you stay in the low - mid power band a greater time. To large of an exhaust and you will actually loose the hp in the low-mid power band.. So you choose where you want the ponies and how large of an exhaust to use

I would recommed getting a single cat LT1 cat-back before getting an LS1 cat-back. The Y-pipe on the LS1's are in the center of the car so if you used an LS1 cat-back, the I-pipe will be shorter. You'll have to get some additional 3" pipe to be welded up, whereas the LT1 system should take the I-pipe all the way to the S-pipe (if not to the converter).
Don't get me wrong, an LS1 system will work (that's what I have) but I would recommmend the LT1 single cat system if you're buying new.Jason McCallister, Founder & Webmaster
West Tennessee F-Body Association, Inc.

2000 Camaro - Details
