So did you guys end up meeting last weekend? How'd it go?

More problems with my exhaust too, btw.. I suspected a leak, so I figured I'd use Sea Foam to find the leaks from the smoke and clean the engine at the same time... Well it turns out I'm leaking where the headers connect to the y-pipe, and at the welded joints before and after the catalytic converter... Still getting the SES too, so I'll get that checked again Monday to see which sensor it is and get it taken care of and get the joints fixed.. Those should be free since I already payed to have them welded once and it's been all of a couple weeks.

If this SES won't go away, how much would an O2 Sim be? And how exactly do they work?

Just to update, for now everything is good.. Got the joints re-welded to fix it.. So no leaks, the steering linkage was grinded a little more so it isn't rubbing, and they replaced the O2 sensor in case it was faulty.. So far so good with the new one and I got on it pretty hard on the way home...

The new sound is even better too now that there aren't any leaks.. A little quieter, which is fine cause it's still very loud... But less raspy, which is great. Has better pickup too, whether that's from the sea foam or the fixed leaks I don't know.. Probably a little of both but mostly sea foam.

So now I'm really happy with the whole set up.. ;)

Edit: I also will be trying to get sound clips up sometime soon, hopefully this weekend.. I know so far there aren't any available of the Pacesetter/Loudmouth combo.. I can get them while it's in Park and Neutral without a problem.. Gonna be harder to get them while i'm driving though.. Hopefully I can do all that this weekend.

hey redthunder you said you had a leak at the y-pipe connection to the header? did you have a shop weld that for you? Or what exactly did they do to fix your leak cuz thats where my leak is

It was at the ball joint where the collector off the header connects with the y-pipe.. My mechanic said he had put it on lose to allow the people doing the welding to move it a little bit if they had to re-position anything.. Apparently they didn't tighten it.. But if you have it tightened and it's leaking, there's some type of sealant you can put there.. Supposedly the same stuff you would use if you had chrome valve covers on an engine and they weren't sealing properly.. The ball joint doesn't always seal perfectly since the ceramic coating is too smooth..

So see if you can tighten it a little more, and if not look around for what that sealant is.. I have no idea what it's called unfortunately.

The other leaks were just welded joints that had to be gone over again since the exhaust shop did a really crappy job.

yea its the ball joints for me as well...those bolt things dont hold it very good. Im going to have to look around tomorrow somewhere for that stuff. Or just go to an exhaust shop and have them weld that for me...i have tightened it several times but i cant keep it from either coming loose or leaking. I almost had it fixed once...then the nuts came loose. So i gave up with tightening

This saturday afternoon or evening would be good for me.. Friday night I have a hockey game and Saturday morning I gotta take SAT II's thanks to colleges becoming more and more of a pain to apply to. But anyway, I could meet somewhere in the afternoon or evening.

I'll just take a tape player outside with a mic and record it in the driveway, then play that in front of the mic on my PC.. My computer is upstairs so I can't get it anywhere near the car. To get it while I'm driving I'll take a tape player with batteries..
