• A Question For Dynomax Muffler Owners

I'm really considering making the switch from my flowmaster to dynomax. I've heard nothing but good news with this muffler. My muffler does get ricey and pops and so forth when I rev it up. I noticed dynomax makes two different types: Ultraflow and superturbo. Which one should I get and what's the part# for both??

I used to have a Flowmaster 80 series but switched to a dynomax super turbo muffler. I like the Dynomax much better. It's a lot quieter and deeper sounding at high rpm's. It did get much louder the longer I had it, especially because when I added a high-flow cat which made it sound even better. I definitely recommend Dynomax.

Did your muffler get any ricier, or do you still get a deep performance tone even when reving it up high?

Ok I have heard of these, but not too much bout them. My muffler guy said that he likes these a hell of a lot better than flowmaster, But the down side to it is that the dynomax costs bout twice as much as the flowmaster does. I was wondering where i could find the dynomax cheeper ? And is the sound that they produce really good, which one should i go with Flowmaster or dynomax

I'm wondering the same thing. But, jegs got the superturbo for 45 bucks(part#17739) and the ultraflow for $127.(Part#17266). Both are just the muffler(no tailpipes, etc). I'm trying to get opinions from people who has them.

I have twin DM super turbos on my car. 2 1/2 inch diameter. They have a very deep idle not and get quieter toward redline(my SC is alot louder than the exhaust). I do have drone at 2000RPM. The superturbos are aluminized and the ultraflows are stainless. Also, ultraflow have a straight through design, so they are louder.

I am pretty sure they both outflow flowmasters.

You can find STs in summit or jegs for like $35ish.

how does your flowmaster sound is it pretty good, or does it sound pretty ricey at higher rpm. my muffler guy had the dynomax something? for like 140 i think. I might just go with the dynomax, cuz he can put it on right away too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My flowmaster doesn't get ricey when I'm driving, because upgraded my intake, but i'm picky. I don't like the ricey, loud sound when i'm reving it up in park.

I like the aggresive loud sound, not the ricey loud sound like a honda or eclipse.

That's the trouble with those 80's... they sound alright until you hit 4.5k RPM, then they sound really whiny/importish... I drive an automatic, so I let the throttle go when I get to that rpm, so that it shifts on it's own, and I can avoid the trumpet muffler sound!

Get the dynomax. I went from the flowmaster to dynomax and I noticed it sounds way better through the whole rpm range but it isnt as loud

Does the dynomax have a aggresive loudness to it(not ricey though)? I heard it's pretty deep. And will I be able to transfer my tailpipes off of my flowmaster onto the dynomax??

Where's the best place to get a Dynomax cat-back? I think this is going to be my first mod.

I was on the dynomax website and I've noticed part# 17739 is the cheapest, but it's for the 82-97 models. I have a 2000. Will it still fit on my car?
