At TBYRNE.com, there is this induction combo, which incudes the whisper lid and a ram air kit. Is the ram air portion of this a lot better than say just the lid and a K&N? I mean, I think its a pretty good deal, but how much more HP does it give you when the Lid and K&N give you 15 hp already.
Thanks. ED

The underhood ram air kits are worthless. Just raise the airbox and get a lid. Even a performance filter is a waste of money.

So the SLP CAI and the K&N are worthless? I believe that is the first time I have heard that opinion expressed. These mods plus the Whisper Lid really helped my car. I don't think just raising the airbox is going to let the same amount of air in that the CAI does.

The ram air kit helped my car also. Mods affect each car differently.

I really felt a decent SOTP effect with the ram air, I think it was the best-feeling mod i've put in

You actually raise the airbox, not just the lid.

I don't understand...How do I raise the whole box? And really, does this help at all? What would be an estimate is HP gain from doing this?
Thanks guys...Ed

Go with the Ram air and the whisper lid... yes you do get more air flow with it installed...I went from 27 mpg on the hiway to 35 mpg on the same hiway same speed etc. It does flow more more air.

27 to 35 mpg, plus performance...if this is true, it practically pays for it self in like 1000 miles of use...I have to get this.
Thanks...I also am still curious on how you raise the whole airbox...
