It's second only to B&B Triflow cat-back. Still a good choice.2002 Electron Blue Corvette
1999 Black Mazda Truck
AKA: Night Rider

ok, im going to solve everyones problem with wanting to make their car sound like a v8......buy a trans Am/z28 and get a loudmouth exhaust...can't get any closer then that!
Sorry, I just get tired of that muffler question, people can still tell the difference anyways....my flowmaster are good enough for me, as long as its not factory or a ricer exhust, you can't go wrong with any of those mufflers. Then: 1997 3.8L Red Firebird~SOLD!~
Now: 2002 Atlantic Blue Dodge Ram 1500

I think B&B is quite in our cars.
Borla isnt much of anything. All I see is that the exhuast doesn't even go into the muffler, its just a bank to one side of the pipe, and I know of different plates you can get.
To me, Flowmaster is the best for our cars, and is one of the cheapest.

I agree wholeheartedly with Jughead...
After hearing my "little" V6 on the dyno with the flowmaster 80 from 3,000-6,000RPM at WOT... and after everyone in the shop had an orgasmic experience from the sound alone... I will NEVER EVER buy anything but a flowmaster for my V6 :D2002 5-spd NBM Camaro

You all must be listening to bad Borla setups. I think mine sounds fine and I think others that have seen/heard wil agree. Some of the tones you hear depend on the plate they have installed at the time.94 Quasar Blue Z28
http://www.9t4z28.com
http://www.9t4z28.com/Dyno1.htm

Agreed!
My flowmaster si fine my unhooked exhasut is fine. Everyon thinks I have a POS at the track moving in the staging lanes when they ask me what do I run and I say high 15s, now they say ask "in a LT1?" An those are pretty much carguys, even was told by a guy with my flowmaster under 2500 he thinks it sounds like a v8 and he has a 383 stroker and races very very often.
But any true car guy at WOT will be very happy. jsut as long as its better then stock then I am happy.

Last time I said it sounded like azz, I got some hate mail. Someone really cracked me up. Yes it's only my opinion and opinon of many from Chicago cause we got to hear it all the time on Roy's car. It was the worst sounding exhaust ever. I'm not saying mine is be all end all. I'm just talking about many people's opinions on what we heard. Do a search on Borla and you'll see a huge thread.
Magnus has B&B and it's tame. It's nice sounding. Just not loud. He has headers and full exhaust though. That makes it sound better. Much better then Borla. Probably second best I've heard on a V6.
I do like my dynomax. You guys think I'm biased, but I would bash the hell out of it if I didn't like it. Infact I noticed a rust spot on the stainless tips and I was about to bash it, but then it turned out to be dirt.
So before you start flaming me for hating the "adjustable" miracle and asking me if mine is adjustable, I'm just stating what I strongly feel about and I got alot of guys on this board that will agree with me.
Maybe one of these days I can get a good sound clip of mine. I do dislike my tips though. See I do bash the stuff that I own. I liked my 3.5X12 slash cut tips much better. Someday I'll replace my tips.

WHy pay over 400+? I mean is that plate magic or do yall buy it because its a name brand like Nike? Sure you get stainless steel, cool, but its just a bank off pipe with a lil plate. I think I could get a lil brass pipe, cut two holes in my ehaust, and have my poor mans Borla for pennies on the dollar.
Best two exhaust for our cars
Flowmaster
Dynomax
and well, I gotta say this one, SLP loud mouth too

If you want adjustability, get the $600 borla. If you want a very low-restriction exhaust, get the slp loudmouth for the z28 that comes with a resonator in the I-pipe and no muffler.2001 Arctic White Firebird
T-Tops, 3.42 rear gear stock
Mods:K&N Air Filter,Whisper Air Induction Lid, maf screen removed, raised air box, Kumho Ecsta 712 255-50-ZR16 tires, BMR stb
Mods not installed yet: FTRA, SLP Lsd/Differential cover
Near Future Mods: HPP3, GMMG 3\" Exhaust , 1LE Swaybars, Transgo Shift Kit, MSD-DIS-4 w/ Accel Coil-Packs, Turquoise Blue Neon Underbody Kit, BMR Adj. Stop hating on Borla.
1. The tips are the best looking out there.
2. It is adjustable to your liking...HOW MANY OTHER CATBACKS ARE ADJUSTABLE?
3. Check my sig...My exhaust sounds really nice. Not TOO loud but when you get on it, you can hear it for sure and is not ricey at all when you get up around 5 or 6 grand...
4. If you want your car to sound like an 8, BUY AN 8. "Does it sound like an 8?" This question has been asked about all the exhaust out there for our cars. THE ANSWER IS NO...
5. Sure Borla is really expensive, but it has a lifetime warranty, and is the best looking/sounding exhaust on our cars. If you want to go cheap, STAY STOCK.
I heard a flowmaster 80 series on a 3.4 the other day, once he revved up to around 3 grand it started screamin like a civic.
I did a lot of research before I bought my exhaust, and I thought and still do think that borla is the best option. I spent less than $400 for my exhaust (Highflow cat, I pipe, muffler, tips)...I think that is the way to go rather then spending the $500+ dollars on just the borla catback. It is pricey, but if you look around you can find a used borla exhaust system that better suits your budget.1993 3.4
Borla rear section
3 inch Catco High Flow Cat
2.75 inch I pipe (Picked one up from an LT-1 guy for a whole $10)
K&N Fipk
180° T-stat
Jet Stage II
10 Spoke Z28 Wheels
NGK\'s, Taylor Spiros
Mobil 1 synthetic
Email Viper2@chesnet.net for 4th gen replacement parts.

I second that notion!
Do some searches on this board, other boards, ect.
Find some people that live near u w/ different types of exhausts! Stop by their houses and check out their cars!
Or get something and pray u like the sound thats what i did! lol
Plus i bought my flows and had them installed for less than $300 total price. Cant go wrong.
Just my .02
