I have my American Thunder Flowmaster catback (setup meant for the 3.8) and the Dynomax bullet muffler to replace the cat. Now has anyone ever had problems with clamps? The cat back came with clamps. I'm thinking about clamping it myself or taking it somewhere to get welded. Has anyone clamped their exhaust and had problems?

yeah, exhaust leaks...just clamp it and drive to the muffler shop and pay 20$ to weld it -
i have stainless steel band clamps on the exahusts on both vehicles and have never had a problem with leaks.Comment

Well I found a place that will do all the welding, even cut off the cat and put on the dynomax, doing it for 70 bucks. I dunno.. i would clamp it.. then you can adjsut it if you get a squeek / rattle... once you weld it it cant really be undone too well..
