• Lingenfelter intake

I am looking for an alternative to the SLP intake. I had it for about 6 months and didnt notice much of anything. Maybe 5hp on top end. It mainly threw my car out of tune more than anything else. I sold the slp because i was going FI but have now decided to stay natural. Does anyone have the lingenfelter intake and if so what kind of gains are with it?

I do. but I cant exactly help you. I purchased their 1993 LT1 kit for my 1995 3.4 car Bolted it on, plugged the A.I.R. inlet/outlet bung, and wham-o! Im the first 3.4 with a Lingenfelter intake

Lingenfelter is ****, it is basically a really expensive plastic elbow. I made my own custom intake with METAL. none of that PVC ****. I got a 3.5 rubber elbow and connected it to the throttle body, then reduced it to 3 inches to fit past the radiator and the brake lines.
I got this elbow at http://airflowonline.com . My intake is real nice, when i punch the gas, i can hear the air whooshing in if i have the radio off....
        Have fun...

Yea, unfortuniately, KBeezy isnt the first one with this mod. James has it, and from talking to him when i researched my CAI, he said it sucked. Just by looking at it, it sucks. The SLP one is much much better. I dont know why it didnt do anything to your car, did you reset your PCM when you put it in? The SLP intake was hands down the best mod i did for my car.

I have the Lingenfelter 3.8 intake. Pictures are on my site.

I got it because I don't think the SLP is a good design, due to the placement and exposure of the filters. There is nothing wrong with the stock filter housing, only the restrictions between it and the TB - which are removed by the Lingenfelter intake.

Actually I'm the first one to put a LT1 Lingenfelter intake on my 3.4 Show me another 3.4 with a Lingenfelter intake. ;)

SLP intake is over priced if you ask me, and I dont see how it "out performs" the K&N, Morosso, or Lingenfelter (LT1) intakes. The Lingenfelter 3.8 intake just replaces the factory tubing and doesn't do much. But mine kicks the other ones asses

Either way - look at pictures of a Lingenfelter 3.8 intake and an LT1 intake like I have on mine. Totally different.

i know the lingenfelter intake has been out for a long time. i saw it online when i was looking for intakes 5 years ago. i wouldn't assume you're the first 3.4 w/ one just b/c you're the only person on this board to have one. also there's really no need to keep mentioning its an lt1 intake, they all fit the 3.4's too.

i don't see how the lingenfelter flows better than the other intakes. theres a major bottleneck w/ the flat spot on top of it. after seeing different ones in person, i would say the k&n flows the best.

SLP: Goes around the radiator, between the radiator and the ABS box

LPE: Goes over the radiator, and pinches for hood clearance.

                      You make the call.

Doesn't pinch It actually fattens up underneath around the radiator. I can run my fist in to the tube where in the SLP I cant

well, the slp has 2 2.5 inch tubes for an effective 5 inch intake, i wont come off the money for it, but to me, thats the one to get, no one else even comes close in my mind. If i wasnt so damn cheap i would get it.
