Maybe there is something wrong with my car because, even with the Triflow, in the upper r's it sounds very much like a civic. I heard it at a distance while my dad was probably between 3500-4500 rpms or so.
Down low it does sound great, have gotten many compliments. (one guy said, "it has the 350 in it, right?") .
Go with flowmaster, the 80 series was made for f-bodie, v6 and v8. If you hade a 3.8, I'd look around, but the 3.4 with the 80 series will get you a mean-sounding 6, and your friends will think its an 8. Nothing sounds like an 8 at higher rpms, but from my experience this sounds like an 8 at low-moderate rpms and while not like an 8 higher up, not ricey. There is a considerable difference in how the 2 engines sound, and the flowmaster definately sounds alot better on the 3.4, that needs to be considered when comparing systems. Go for it, you'll like it.

Why get a muffler if you want something free-flowing??? Resonators like the SLP Loudmouth would serve that purpose just fine. Hell, you could just go straight pipes if you want the best flow. However, if you want your car to sound the best it can, go with Flowmaster.

Flowmaster really is the greatest sounding muffler I have heard on our cars. Sure they get ricey up top but what doesnt? Under normal driving, I don't think you can beat the sound of a Flowmaster!
I've got 2.5" pipes running to a Flowmaster 80 and when under a load it sounds good all the way up. It doesn't sound like a V8, but who would expect that? It doesn't sound ricey at all. Open cutout at 5K: thats a different story!

Man, that's one of the main reasons I like the flowmaster.
