• SS Rear w/ 3" I Pipe vs. Dynomax

Hello all, the subject line kind of explains everything. I don't want a real loud exhaust, and I want it to be affordable. Gaining lots of power really isn't what Im after. I just want something thats going to make the car sound nice and look more like a Camaro (dual outs) than a K-Car. I have the opportunity to but the SS rear for $50, if I added the 3" I pipe, thats probably $20 + install, the Dynomax on the other hand would probably cost me around $200 to $250 installed w/ tips and all that. So what would you guys do? Thanks.

I have dual exhaust from an '00 SS and love it.

Stainless steel, agreesive look, not too loud (nice throaty down low, nice performance tuned V6 sound up top). Perfect!

I also have the SLP rear and love it, deep and throaty, and no annoying drone on the highway. I just put on the SLP CAI this weekend and it sounds so nice, a ton better at high rpms as compared to the stock intake. Also, I still have the 2.25" i-pipe, but plan to get a Z28 2.75 to give it a little more deep tone.
You'd have to be crazy to pass it up for under $100

No, you have a dual-exit muffler.

Racer, if he or aynone else wouldn't of assumed that then may they be shot out of a cannon. IN fact, you probably should for being smart *** enough to make that statement.

for $50 buckx I would try it. I am getting around to putting on a stock lt1 setup, jsut to see how it does. 2.75, dual outlet muffler(sitting in bedroom). I like power, but I also like my midrange for AutoXing.

For the price I would go with the SS exhaust, especially if you want a semi quiet, sound. Most exhaust on 3.8L in my opinion do not sound that great, I would go with the SS exhaust.

hehe where are you getting it from? If you don't want it I might consider it. I am assuming UCF means Univ of Central FL?

Simmer down there Backseat Charlie. A lot of people who wouldn't know any better read this board (both rookies and non-member types). My post was merely to clarify for those people and to encourage use of the correct terminology.

be sure to get the s-pipe done as well as the cat too. saves money if you do it all at the same time. besides, the worst restriction stock piece is probably the s-pipe since it's crush bent and not mandrel bent. Then the i-pipe, then the muffler, then the cat and headers.
