Alright..here's the deal. My friend's dad is a mechanic and I mentioned to him I'd do a website for him if he'd get me a good deal/free install with a catback system. Now..according to his books, the only V6 exhaust is for 3rd Gens..and I told him that I've seen many on the board with Dynomax on their 96's, 2000's even.
I need part numbers and costs if someone can list em. I'm not too good with exhaust stuff, so that's why I'm looking for your guys help. Thanks in advance. :D
Do you want a custom cat-back...or do you want to buy one direct fit?? You can buy a Dynomax stainless steel muffler for less than a $100 and buy the piping also. You can even throw in a high flow cat if you dont already have one. Because that I know of...only manufacturers like Borla and B&B make a direct fit cat-back exhaust for V6 Camaro's. But you're looking at like $600.
Since im such a nice guy I looked these 2 up for you at jegs.com (i always found jegs to have lower prices)
289-17739 Dynomax Super Turbo Dual Outlet $44.99
389-43083 Flowmaster Series 80 $79.99
I know that magnaflow makes a line of mufflers I went to their website and didn't see any prices, youd have to check it out. Pretty much anything witn a dual outlet type muffler like the ones we have will fit and work, meaning anything from the v8s line i'd think. I got you the part numbers for 2.5" inlet/outlet. If you did 3" youd loose back pressure. Hope I could help.
BTW, I have a dynomax, it's cheaper and it sounds better, i never tried a flowmater but I heard their garbage, im happywith my dynomax, i heard a lot of good things about magnaflow though. Also if you order a whole catback system it's going to cost you like $300 some bucks. I got my whole exhaust system done for about $100. Muffler about $50 and $30 for welding it and $20 for piping. Good deal eh? Find a custom muffler shop to do it, midas are dickheads and they over charge. I brung my parts in their and the guy there said it was trash and wanted to charge me $100 for just muffler back!!! I was like **** that bring down my car and im outta here.
I know that Edelbrock makes a complete cat back kit for your car you can find it at Jegs.com, borla makes one and B&B Tri flow makes one. As far as everyone else, just get the cat back kits that were made for the 93-95 single cat LT1 fbody's. The only difference will be hangers and things like that. Or you can do what I did and get the flowmaster muffler with a nice set up tips and have a muffler shop bend all the pipes to fit. cost around $275 for that.
