The only part that seems to be in the way is the hose that's closest the block. Is it a separate part or is the entire hose considered one piece?
Here's a picture that shows what I think is the only part in the way. It's colored red. AC Hose Do I still have to order the 10410477?

Both hoses that come off the AC compressor are considered ONE part. Both hoses are attached to the compressor fitting.

I'm thinking about trying to bend the hose a little. It shouldn't take much. I wonder what the chances of it building to much pressure up and blowing out?

That appears to be the best solution so far.

yeah, when i bought my new motor about a year and a half ago, it came with the 2000 manifolds already on it but i probably should have just got pacesetters while i was at it. Anyways i researched it and couldn't find anybody who had done it and i was getting tired of not having A/C so my dad came up with the idea to buy the 2000 hose and weld the 97 fittings on to the ends.
              parts cost
              2000 hose- 170 dollars
              hose modification- 40 dollars
              system recharge- 120 dolars
