okays im kind of a newb at this, so this is what i got: American Thunder Flowmaster cat back system: http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/cg...ter/17357.html
now this isnt loud enough, and when i was in the process of puttin this on i just took my whole exhaust off from the cat, and i drove around with it like that for a couple days and yes it sounded raspy and loud but everyone has there opinions, and i know everyone doesnt like that because its too loud. But i kind of did, so therefore i would just like to put a cutout on before the axle. now the thing is i believe my catback system still made it stock size correct?? and i believe there is no cutout on the market to fit the 2.25 pipe. i was wondering if someone can confirm this for me please, and also that was a bolt on catback but i went ahead and welded it together later on. i was also wondering if puting a cutout after the cat (which is what im wanting to do) is illegal in VA? or most other states? cause my inspection is coming up and i want to pass

to my knowledge its not illegal if you have it if it is closed but once you open it it is no longer legal (so get an e-cutout so you can open and close on demand). Also i dont know of a 2.25" cutout but you could weld on an adapter pipe to either end of a 2.5" cutout so it will be 2.25" where you weld it into the exhaust.

Should be legal, atleast in NC I know it is. As long as your car has a working cat, you can do anything you want to it. Do it AFTER your inspection, though, just to be sure. I don't think it'll pass inspections like that, so just do it after. Good luck.

I don't think they can say anything if you have it closed when you get it inspected. Just make sure it doesn't leak, cuz they might try to make you fix that before they'll let you pass. Running the open cut-out is illegal because it is too loud. I was pulled over once with my LoudMouth cat-back on, it's an expensive fine in most counties/cities! So I just had mine fixed permanently with a REAL muffler. I say step up the exhaust pipe just before and step it down after to make the cut-out fit.

Never heard that from the cops i know. The reason they gave you doesnt make any sense either, if they said it was because you could open from inside the car it would make more sense but even then.

If you wanna keep cops from checking out what's under your car just get some nice lowering springs :-P My car sits pretty low with my Eibachs and W68 gfx so no chubby officer is willing to bend down and look under it

I have a cutout and it's permanently open. In the 3 years i've had it, i've never been pulled over for it. So, I wouldnt worry about getting into trouble for having a loud car.
