  • LS1/LT1 Throttle Body on our v6? ( Stock TB Maf problems )

Ok, Ever since I changed my stock intake out to my CAI ive been getting Service engine light. I never thought anything of it till my friend got a 96 Firebird v6. This thing is bone stock. with 3.08 gears. Ive got SLP cai, 1le DS cutout and 3.42 gears &stuff. we have the same stereo so weight is the same and we always have full tanks of gas. I cant outpull his car after 1st gear, and even in 1st its just cause Im launching the car slightly better. he is dead even with me from 35 -120.
So Im thinkin that the MAF codes Im getting are messing with my Air fuel mixture or delivery. Because other than the SES light my car is Tip top. ( his car needs everything I have ) Spark plugs, fuel filters, clean injectors clean airfilters. ( same gas )I mean Service Wise u name It, I have it and he needs it.

So what Im thinking is , how do I fix bad MAF codes, I think the error was like, Temp differnce to great, or overactive readout. something like that.

2ndly I was thinkin, Is it possible to rig up a Trans Am Throttle body to our V6, I mean I was thinkin get a TB spacer that was port matched but made it so u could connect up the bigger TB. Just a thought. Thanks for reading.

have you scanned the car to see what the code is for? could be that you forgot to plug the IAT sensor back in?

and no an LS1 throttle body will not work on our cars.

No the IAT sensor is in, when I scanned the car at my buddys place a while ago it said MAF - not air intake.

Edit: However, I was thinkin before I got it scanned that it was the sensor on the intake cause it didnt fall right in like the stock one, Ive been thinking about moving it down to the filters but then Im thinking, well maybe Im actually getting cold air at the intake and my hot Throttle body has such a greater temp that its throwing off the comp?

What year is your car? Have you removed the TB screen?
