of course, it makes a convenient cut out as well, IMO...
just get a high flow cat, and clamp a muffler on to it...and send the outlet pipe out by the pass rear tire...
no, doesn't look too fabulous or showy...but it gets rid of i pipe issues, and makes for a convenient cut out at the track.

i have seen this done on mustang gt's. the newer one's. they sound mean as hell. you can also shave another 30lbs from yuor car. i think when i install my cam i'll give this a shot. i don't have enough hp right now to run this type of exhaust..

Careful, we sit really close to the ground, probably why the muffler is in the rear so close to the gas tank. They do have those slim line mufflers out, but I can fine better ways of spending that money, but in my mind the exhaust looks bad *** coming out of the side.
