Hi guys! I just got a 2001 firebird and I want to fix it up, but I don't know where to start. I want my car to "purrrr" loudly! I have no idea where to start. I've never been too interested in cars until I finally got my own this past summer. I like the rectangle exhaust tips so maybe I can get those. I need some advice and pictures! Please help me get started.
what should i do to my car?????????

hi there ..and congrats on the new wheels...excellent choice..hehe..my current exhaust setup is a borla 3" cat back exhaust fully open with a hollowed & sleeved cat..soon to be finished off with a set of headers...VERY LOUD...but i drag race it..so every pony counts...i would recommend the borla system because it has 3 different close-off plates so you can adjust it to the tone you like best...they also have a life-time warranty...and are dyno proven for about 10 horses to the rear wheels...if you like the look of the rectangle tips you can buy those from www.rksport.com seperately and have someone spot weld them on no problem..id also recommend a catco high flow cat (watch out though..i dont know how emissions are in SoCal)...i have MANY mods..gotta be $15K easy..check out my home page..listed there is every single mod..how much it cost..and where i got it

thanks. i'll have to check out the site. i don't really know anything about cars so i'll prolly end up getting screwed. costs arent important because of a recent inheritence so I want to get the best for my baby.

Hey there...
Best thing to get first would be an air intake and a k&n filter to help your bird breathe better.
Then look to get a good catback system. Yea the rksport would look nice, but you could find a set of used z/28 rectangle tips also.
Best thing to use is the search feature. It has just about any and every topic you can think of.
But if not just ask some questions.
Wheels what wheels... lets see some pics.

First you should go w/ a good intake. Then I would recommend the flowmaster muffler. the 80 series... I have that on my car and people think it's a V8. It sounds nice and it's pretty cheap. Then I would suggest headers and a high flow cat. Those are pretty much the basics. But if money's no problem, after all that I would say go w/ a supercharger and make it scream ;)

Check the sig(s) There's a few of us in SoCal. We got together a few months ago to help do installs on one guy's car (at HB). I'm sure if you ask, we could all get together again.

Pacesetter headers, magnaflow/carsound hi flow cat, and SLP Loudmouth use the search and you'll find the video of what it sounds like. It's what I have, it purss loudly and I love it. Since money isn't a factor for you can you buy me some black Z06 rims for me?
