Thats a good question. I'm not sure but I think there's a clearence problem with the hood. Thats why the 95-98 3.8's have the angled TB and it just took a year to switch to the straight TB once there was more room under the hood. Don't quote me on that though.1998 Red RS 3.8l A4
Whisper - K&N - N20 - 1LE Panhard - Ghetto STB - 255/50ZR16 Ecsta
Removed grille - Limo tint - blackouts - A-pillar cf a/f ratio
Panasonic DF88 - 1 12\" Eclipse 88120.4 - Eclipse 3322 amp
http://members.cardomain.com/raven_rs

I've read that before somewhere, too. That the reason for the '98 restyle was to make room for the revised intake. It makes sense too, because the front end of the hood and header panel do sit higher on the 98+ Camaros and Birds\'01 Camaro M5 1SA \"Lightweight\" hardtop, Bright Red, Ebony cloth, FRA, Whisper Lid, B&B cat-back, Torsen 3.73 LSD, HPPIII (93 octane setting)
\'00 Camaro SS M6 T-Top, all GM and most SLP opts., Bright Red, Ebony leather, 4.10s, SLP long tubes, Loudmouth, CNC Stage II H/C, etc.
