2001 firebird w/ tubular exhaust manifold

    I need to know:
    1. Torque specs on bolts & suggestions on a good method of putting them back into the block.
    2. This is the important one: The two bolts that hold down the center pipe will not come off -- are they supposed to? Any suggestions? I do NOT want these things to break in the heads, a broken bolt started this mess and I will go completely insane if it happens again. They are different from the other four bolts in that they are *much* harder to remove and they have a hex on the end of them. Should I turn them to the right instead of the left? (They are very seriously stuck) -- or should I simply leave them in? (Am leaning towards that myself.
    3. Any suggestions on install? Make sure I do this or that... etc...

i deleted the post in the advanced section. I do not condone that at all.

Did the bolt heads come off and you're left with just a stud in the block? THere are a couple studs in the heads which suck. What I did to break the studs out was put on another nut, perhaps even 2.. tighten them down really tight and then loosen the stud by unscrewing using the nut closest to the head.

Torque spec, not really sure.. Mine are just VERY tight. I didn't reuse the stock bolts, I picked up some strong stainless bolts at the hardware store.

yes.. just don't let it happen again.. seriousely.

If we allow one, then we have to allow all of them, just imagine what it would look like then.
