I hooked a cheap tape player and microphone in my front yard, mainly to record the high. Revs sound blah. I did get it up to about 2000 rpms maybe higher while driving away couldn't go too fast with neighborhood homes

Hmmm, good idea. I think I'll put my boombox in the trunk, have a mic taped to the bumper and drive around the way I (read: ME) want to drive to see how it sounds like to ME. I have a B&B though. I got it because of the Dyno proven 13hp and 14lb-ft. But everyone that's posting seems more concerned with sound than power.

if I was completely concerned about power I'd be driving a V8.

Changing from the dynomax to the flowmaster isn't really gonna make a difference performance wise IMO. I'll find out for sure once I hit the track.

EVERYBODY I know noticed the different sound from my car and asked why my car sound so much meaner and better, and I told em why.

If I was completely concerned about sound I'd be driving a V8. Same chit. Goes both ways. 'sides not everyone can afford to buy/keep a V8, but many of us want ours to sound close to it. While some is content with a unique v6 sound.

I just think you should make recordings of you driving it since that's when you here it the most. I just can't tell if I like it or not when you're reving it in neutral like that. Maybe it's just me.

Well I like to hear neutral revs. It gives a sense on how the system will sound over all. If somebody is reving at me at the stoplight I want to rev back, but i can't because i am embarrased by the way my car sounds. I want my car to sound awesome even when i rev in neutral.

I think what they mean is that there isn't going to be much difference performance wise between catbacks. B&B has been specifically tested and published in a magazine, but others should give about the same. They should vary only between a few horses, while the difference in sound between them are great. I would take a hit on a couple of horses for a better sound, but not much more than 5 or 8.

I understand, it's all good. But I personally think my car isn't too fast. Just adequate for my own preferences. I am looking into a GTO for my future car. I don't want to slowly walk away and declare victory. I want to RUN away and have the other guy go, "Whoa!"

Toast, you should get a used, already broken in flowmaster like from ebay or whateverr. When I had my first flowmaster before my dynomax, It was with the stock cat and I pipe. But, with an already broken in muffler with a highflow cat and a bigger I pipe, it sounds amazing even when reving, so if you wanna rev on someone, I recommend all of the above. It only gets the rattle sound when reving it pass 3000 rpms, but who revs it that high anyway?

Toast, I finally compared my exhaust with the ravin exhaust that's on Jack's ride. OUR opinions: At idle, the rumble is not as deep as mine. Both mufflers got chainsaw sound when reving, but he said his ravin got the sound at a lower rpm. BOTH mufflers weren't warmed up enough though. His exhaust underload-WOT sounded horrible (no offense Jack). It was pretty ricey, BUT his I pipe and cat is also stock. He heard mine at WOT and liked it. He's considering making the switch.

I believe the intake setup on the 98+ cars have alot to do with the exhaust sound compared to the 95-97 cars.

Hey Shortdog, click here and once there click on coolexhaust" and let me know if your exhaust sounds simular to that one in the clip. Also listen to my Ravin clips on there and tell me what ya think. Ravin1 is my car cold and Ravin2 is my car warmed up.

The coolexhaust? I guess you meant the camaroexhaust clip and the two ravin clips. I hate to judge by soundclips because an exhaust often sound much better in person, but when I heard Jack's ravin in person, it sounded the same as your soundclip: Not good, even at WOT. My exhaust is deeper, but the rattle is there when you're reving it pass 3000 rpms, but they ALL rattle when you rev it real high. The dynomax I had did the same thing. Keep in mind, I don't have the stock I pipe nor cat on my car, so that makes a big difference. Jack heard my exhaust. Email Jack and get his opinion on my exhaust.

I am soory shortdog. The "coolexahust" clip should be on my site now. Thanks for the info. I know that it is going to rattle up high. I realy dont mind the rattle as long as it is deep and not a ricy rattle that i have with the Ravin, know what i mean? Almost like a V8 rattle that i hear with the LS1, i would not mind that. :D ;) You will hear what i am refering in the clip.

I had my mind set on buying a 3" American Thunder catback system with a Car sound or Random tech 3" cat. But I'd still like to hear the B&B so I can be completely satisfied with my decision.

I won't be able to post clips, but I will report, in detail, on what I think of it once I put it on. Hopefully it'll be this Saturday, if it doesn't rain  ; who knows.
I haven't heard many exhaust systems on our cars, so I'll be comparing it to my Delta 40
