I have put on headers maybe 3 weeks ago. I had to get metal gaskets since it blew my paper gaskets. My question was does anyone else with headers hear like a clicking sound when they go into high RPMs and when they are just sitting with their brakes on if the header varies in sound. Thanks to whomever can help me

if its a loud noise it could be a header leak
no idea about the brakes thing

thats what I was thinking but i dont know what else i could do because i already have metal gaskets. I read in like every place that sells headers that there are slight mods for 2001 and 2002. haha whatever i guess though.....thanks

I remember when the board was younger alot of guys bought those headers and had leaking problems. I think they were because of the really weak flanges on the headers when they connected to the y-pipe.

Several of them just welded stronger flanges on, or welded the headers to the y-pipe.

not to take away from derk's question, but do header leaks make the exhaust sound crappier?

haha yeah.....i dont know what it is....im just about to have the damn thing welded or some....in all magazines they always say "slight mods" for 01-02....haha maybe thats it but thanks for the info

well about your question when mine were leaking from the paper gaskets....basically most my exhaust sound came from my headers and it didn't sound that good. It sounded kind of raspy

I just found out what the "slight mods" are for the rksport headers to fit 01-02. The y pipe hits the against a metal piece when it gets into higher RPMS and sometimes the pipe needs to be shortened.
