Wow, what a difference. I was wondering today where I went wrong, why my car was such a turd off the line and all...

So I look under the hood thoughtfully, and see that the hose they sent me is all kinked up.

More out of boredom than high expectations, I started her up and undid the lid. I pulled on it to extend the tubing to the point where I saw the least kinkage, and was surprised to hear an audible difference from the pushed in position it started off in.

So i set to work, cut off a little less than I needed to and snugged 'er up real tight.

Now, I have slight traction issues off the line. The difference where I was having problems, at >20 mph, was unbelievable.

I think it might even be a little worse than stock to have it all crinkled up because it reduces the diameter of the intake hose by quite a bit, some of it is unavoidable because of the angled tb, but get it stretched out nice and tight and clamp that sucka down and you should be hearing a little more (unless your flowtech is open ) and feeling a definite SOTP difference.

I was thinking that too when I first got the whisper lid. I will definatly have to make some modifications to that.
Thanks for the info man.

You should get some 4" racing ducting like I did and put that in place instead of that horrible stuff they send with the lid.

oh, and that's just as bad if not worse than my original setup, you should try what i was talking about! the ultimate would be like radiator hose, because it's so smooth on the inside and you can get one molded in that shape... too bad radiator hose only comes in 2"!

I'll go out on a limb and say it's an LS1 lid. And if so, you can get it at Texas Speed:)
