After I get my Whisper Lid and brakes, I was gonna finish off the exhaust with headers and a high flow cat or just have no cat. Anyway, I've heard so many different things about RK sport headers and pacesetters and all the problems that people have been having with them and I havent heard much about CIA headers. I was wondering if they'd be the best way to go or if people just don't get them and thats why they don't have problems with them. lol

This has been discussed atleast 10 times over the last couple days man. to be blunt, the cia's are better quality, they have slightly smaller primaries (really not a problem unless you go fi, and even then its debatable), but they also cost a lot more. you can buy the pacesetters, and get them fixed and put on your car for less money than the CIA's. now please from now on, read the other posts in this section and search for god sakes.2001 Arctic White Firebird With Black Drop Top<br /><br />3:42 Gears<br />Zexel LSD<br />BMR upper A-Arms<br />Trans Am exhaust with 3\" I-pipe and cutout<br />Modified intake<br />Mecham Hood<br />Trans Go shift kit<br />Making rear control arms and panhard

hp, gains for all of them are minimal on 2000+ because we have tubular manifolds, but they do alter the sound quite a bit. IMHO dont worry about how hard it is to install, just get the pacesetters and pay someone to fix them and install them and you will still pay less than buying a set of CIA's plus i think you have to buy the y-pipe sepperate with the them where it comes with the pacesetters.2001 Arctic White Firebird With Black Drop Top<br /><br />3:42 Gears<br />Zexel LSD<br />BMR upper A-Arms<br />Trans Am exhaust with 3\" I-pipe and cutout<br />Modified intake<br />Mecham Hood<br />Trans Go shift kit<br />Making rear control arms and panhard

I like quality, so I'm going to stay away from Pacesetter. I like how the CIA's are sounding from people even though they're more expensive. Any sort of strange modifications you need to do to put on the CIAs. People keeps saying about stuff they had to do to make thier Pacesetters fit so I was just wondering...\'99 SSM Camaro V6 M5<br />(mod list on cardomain site; too long to list here)<br /> <a href=\"http://www.cardomain.com/id/v6cam99\" target=\"_blank\">http://www.cardomain.com/id/v6cam99</a>

Honestly not sure you would tell the difference between the quality of the pacesetters and the CAI (as long as you didn't get the bad batch of pacesetters). Only one I don't feel is an option is the rk sports.00\' firebird v6 5spd<br />201rwhp ---- 230 rwtq<br />\"Everyday I grow stronger...and further from you.\"<br />WARNING: Do not take any of my comments seriously unless they are technical in nature and then only at your own risk

Poorly made, leak at the flanges. Basically as bad as pacesetter's bad batch except as the norm.00\' firebird v6 5spd<br />201rwhp ---- 230 rwtq<br />\"Everyday I grow stronger...and further from you.\"<br />WARNING: Do not take any of my comments seriously unless they are technical in nature and then only at your own risk

RKSports Y-Pipe fits though and there are no reports of them rubbing on the linkage... must give them that.
my pacesetters were crap. plain and simple.
y-pipe had to be rebuilt.
collectors are leaking now.
rubs on the linkage when I turn.
transmission flange had to be ground down so they wouldn't rub there.
I have said it before and I will say it again... if I had to do i over again and I was serious about V6 performance and quality, I would go CIA in a heartbeat.

Both CIA and Pacesetter headers have 1.5" primaries.. RK sport has 1.75" primaries.. All of them have 2.5" collectors. CIA is by far the best header made for a series II rear drive 3.8l V6. No question about it, the craftsmanship is unequaled by Pacesetter or RKsport. The RK sport headers have weak flanges and usually have to be welded to the Y-pipe, which is very inconvenient when having to remove the exhaust for transmission work as you can't unbolt the Y-pipe from the headers and drop the exhaust from there. You have already heard of the problems with Pacesetters from Ross. The price ranges RKsport is the most expensive, followed by CIA, then Pacesetter.2000 Firebird. I checked the prices for the CIA (via link on our beloved website's modifications page)and they are not much more expensive than the pacesetters (only 400.00 were 600.00),so I'd stick with this websites recommendations. It's what I will soon get anywho.Geaux Tigers
