  • Clear image Automotive headers?

Has anyone heard of these headers? And if anyone has how do they sound? Also about how much hp is gained from these? Here is the link if you havent already seen them. Clear Image Automotive

ok well, these are actually considered the best headers by most people on this site. i would still recomend pacesetter just for cost issues (even to get them to fit right they would be cheaper than the CIA headers). the other thing is the pacesetters come with a new y-pipe and the CIA's do not (extra 150 i beleive to get the CIA Y-pipe). Since you dont have the tubular exhaust manifolds stock, you will probably notice a pretty good increas in power. the exhaust tone will be a little different after adding them as well.

I just put on the Texas Speed cat back system and really like the sound. But it seems i might have lost a some of my low end torque. Do these headers help with the low torque any?

no header helps with much of anything. so no, it wont help your low end torque. if anything it'll help your high end, same as the cat-back. Thats what larger pipes and higher flow does.
The only thing headers are known to do is help out the tone of the exhaust. unless you have a supercharger. or if you want an easier way to change plugs.
CIA is "supposed" to be better, but pacesetters are alot less expensive, so the concensus is to go with them.

My concensus is not to go with Pacesetter.... unless you want to rebuild a crappy header.

If you are serious about performance then I would go with CIAs.

lol, I love it, Hawgs is always cutting up on the pacesetters......but anyways, just to warn you, I tried to buy some CIA headers and apparently the two guys who own CIA went their seperate ways, making the 3.8L F-body headers temporarily unavailable. I dont know if this is still in effect but this happenned to me about 3-4 weeks ago. I had to settle with rksports and theyre working well for now.

your consensus? So you're in complete agreement with yourself. Fantastic. ;)
